Ernie Dumas has written for Arkansas newspapers and journals for 57 years, 31 as a political reporter and editorial writer for the Arkansas Gazette. Since 1992 he has written a column for the Arkansas Times. He taught journalism for a time at the University of Central Arkansas. His latest books are Dearest Letty and Waiting for the Cemetery Vote, both published with the University of Arkansas Press.
